Scrimba Fullstack blends video tutorials with live coding, making it feel like you're pair programming with the teacher. Watch the teacher code, jump into the IDE to practice instantly, and get AI feedback to sharpen your fullstack skills, all in your browser.
Excited share Scrimba Fullstack - a learning experience that blends videos and live coding into a single tool. So no more jumping back and forth between YouTube and your code editor.
Previously, Scrimba only supported frontend frameworks (HTML, JS, React, etc.), but now we've expanded into fullstackโletting you run Node.js, execute terminal commands, build APIs, and develop real-world backends directly within the tutorials. For a quick technical demo, check this 4-min screencast: ๐ฌ https://scrimba.com/s0kmcarts1
We're launching with seven free courses you can enroll into right away, covering subjects like:
Node
Next
Express
SQL
Vite
Command Line
Supabase
... and more to come over the next few weeks.
Finally, we also provide instant AI-powered code reviews on your code, ensuring that you progress through the courses as fast as possible.
@kay_arkainย Thanks! Surprisingly we're basically the only ones trying to combine the IDE with video. Our CTO got the idea when he wanted to teach his own programming language to other devs, and got annoyed by how regular videos reduce all the data into pixels. Much better to just have the IDE itself act as the video ๐จโ๐ป ๐ฌ

Super excited to learn the backend from scrimba, as soon as my frontend dev path finishes. Really a goated and well developed path and platform, which has taken me from a zero to 100 in web dev in just 2 months. Gotta love Bob, Per and Tom for doing what they do. Can't wait to learn and build more, and super excited for any more future courses that will launch. (Please drop a UI components course for Shadcn or Aceternity UI.)
@apurv13ย Yes, I've been thinking about creating a Shadcn course lately. Hadn't heard about Aceternity, to be honest, but it looks really slick. It'll be more likely we'll do the former first though, as we need to prioritize our limited teacher resources on courses that reach as many devs as possible.

@perborgenย Yes would love a Shadcn course from scrimba. Would really let me and others level up their landing pages and other UI components dev skills.
As a Scrimba frontend grad, I'm super excited to see the courses expand to include fullstack! ๐ฅ
Scrimba's web dev and JS/React courses gave me lots of hands-on coding experience, right in the browser. Admittedly, when I left the world of scrims, I wasn't really comfortable with the terminal, Node.js, or even the full VS Code experience, and struggled to fill in that part of the picture on my own. Now, you can get that right in Scrimba, too!
I was an educator for 20 years before getting into web development, and I have to say that I was blown away by the Scrimba learning experience. I can't wait for the next generation to get to learn these concepts in such an effective and engaging way.
@sarah11918ย Thanks a lot, Sarah! Very proud to see one of our grads work at Astro. And yes, I agree that we were lacking content wrt to the terminal and Node, so this was a much needed upgrade. Would love to hear your feedback on the courses if you try them!
Super excited for this! Scrimba has been instrumental in leveling up my full-stack engineering skills. Itโs not just a seamless and amazing platformโthe team behind it is equally incredible. Itโs safe to say that without scrimba, i wouldnโt have done full-stack so easily.

This interactive approach is brilliant! Does the platform track progress and offer certifications upon course completion?
Scrimba
@desmond_ren1ย Thanks a lot! Yes, we track progress (both your solved challenges and view progress), and offer certificates.

This is so cool! I had no idea Scrimba existed, this is obviously how coding tutorials should work! Can't wait to try it out :)
