Building MacOptimizers — a macOS toolbox (launching tomorrow)
Hi everyone 👋
I’m Anthony, an independent developer from France.
I’ve been working on a macOS app called MacOptimizers — it started as a personal toolbox to manage files, remove leftovers, and run useful maintenance tasks without switching between multiple apps.
Like many users, I was always skeptical about “cleaner” apps — they often promise a lot but don’t deliver much. As an IT professional, I spent time researching how macOS handles “System Data”, where files are actually stored, and what can realistically be cleaned. That’s how MacOptimizers was born.
I initially built it for myself and a few friends, adding features based on real needs — some may be useful, others less so depending on usage.
I’m fully aware that “cleaner/optimizer” apps can be controversial, so I focused on a different approach:
– fully local (no tracking, no data collection)
– no fake alerts or scare tactics
– no background daemons
– more of a toolbox than a “one-click fix”
I’m launching the app tomorrow on Product Hunt, but it is already available the app is in French and English and would really appreciate any feedback 🙏

Neat take on a macOS toolbox...love the focus on transparency and no BS tactics! Will check it out.
If you're up for it, I'm launching The Sponge on PH soon...an AI-powered flashcard app with a browser extension that turns webpages into study material using spaced repetition. Would appreciate a follow (PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH link in profile).
