Building WisGrowth - an AI Career Companion to help people design intentional careers

by•

Hi everyone 👋

I’ve been working on something called WisGrowth, and I wanted to share it here and get some honest feedback from the community.

The idea came from something I kept noticing around me. Most people don’t really design their careers.

They choose a degree without understanding real career paths. They take the first job that comes along.

They follow promotions or trends without questioning whether the direction actually fits them.

Over time, careers become reactive instead of intentional.

At the same time, the tools we have today solve only fragments of the problem:

• Job boards show opportunities
• Resume tools help you apply
• Personality tests give generic suggestions

But there isn’t really a system that helps someone:

– understand themselves
– explore possible directions
– validate career paths
– and take concrete steps forward

That’s what led me to start building WisGrowth - an AI-powered career companion.

The goal is to help people move from career confusion to career clarity through:

• career discovery and direction
• structured experiments to test interests
• ATS resume intelligence
• guided career progress

Think of it as a career operating system rather than just another career tool.

It’s still early and evolving, so I’d genuinely love feedback from builders here:

What do you think is missing in today's career tools?
What would actually help someone make better career decisions?

If anyone here has struggled with career direction before, I’d love to hear your story.

Happy to share more if anyone is curious.

One thing that surprised me while building this is how many people say something like: "I wish someone had helped me think about my career earlier." Not just students, but also people 5–10 years into their careers. It made me realize the problem isn’t lack of ambition or ability. It’s that most people never get a structured way to explore and test career directions. School doesn’t teach it. Companies don’t guide it.And most tools only help when you’re already applying for jobs. So I'm curious about something: What was the moment when you realized you might be in the wrong career direction? Or did you always feel confident about your path? Would love to hear real stories.
