How are you handling OTP delivery for your product?

I’ve been working on a tool called CrunchzApp, and one of the biggest challenges we tackled early on was helping businesses send OTPs (one-time passwords) quickly and reliably.

SMS can be slow (and expensive). Email often ends up in spam. But WhatsApp is where most users already are. So we tested delivering OTPs through WhatsApp instead.

One of our early partners, Goorita (a logistics platform), switched their OTP flow to WhatsApp. In just 3 months, they sent 10,000 OTPs and saw about $5k in extra sales because customers were actually getting their codes instantly.

That got me thinking: every product that relies on OTPs struggles with the same problem how do you balance speed, cost, and reliability?

So I’d love to hear from the community:

• If you’ve built OTP flows before, what channel did you use (SMS, email, WhatsApp, something else)?

• What was the biggest challenge you ran into?

• Do you think WhatsApp will eventually replace SMS for most OTP use cases?
