How do you decide what to build when you have too many ideas?

by

One thing I keep running into is not a lack of ideas, but too many directions to go in.

SaaS, content, marketplaces, services… most of them look viable in isolation, but it’s hard to tell which one actually fits your situation right now.

Especially when constraints are real:

  • limited time

  • limited capital

  • not wanting to rely heavily on outbound

I’ve found that most “idea lists” don’t really help with this because they don’t account for those constraints. They just show what’s possible, not what’s practical.

Lately I’ve been trying to approach it differently by:

  • narrowing options based on constraints first

  • then focusing on execution for a small number of directions

  • and comparing those before committing

Curious how others here approach it.

Do you:

  • pick one direction early and commit

  • or explore a few paths before deciding

And what has actually worked for you in getting from idea → first revenue?
