I don’t want Votap to become Instagram.

Okay… in terms of user numbers — yes please 😅

But not in how it works.

Since we added replies, people have been really active in the comments. Proper discussions are starting. And I love that.

Now I’m thinking about user profiles.

Being able to tag someone in a reply.

Have back and forth discussions.

But here’s the thing. That can very quickly turn into:

→ followers

→ popularity

→ influencers

→ people voting because they like the person, not the idea

And that’s not proper democracy in my opinion.

I don’t want Votap to become a popularity contest.

I don’t want an algorithm that pushes the most viral takes.

This is politics. It has real life consequences. It shouldn't be a game.

The best ideas should win. Not the loudest accounts.

Some people might say:

“That’s boring. Nobody will use that.”

Maybe.

But I don’t think so.
