I stutter. So I built a phone app that backs me up — launching Tuesday

by

Hey PH! I'm Levi — I stutter, and phone calls have always been one of the hardest parts of my day.

Not because of the conversation itself, but the anticipation. The way people finish your sentences. The silence that feels like pressure.

I built Vocalis because every other tool out there tries to fix your speech. Vocalis doesn't. It just backs you up — one tap to inject a pre-recorded phrase or text-to-speech into any real phone call, only when you choose.

The app never speaks for you unless you say so. That rule isn't a feature, it's the whole philosophy.

Launching Tuesday April 7th. Would love your support and feedback, especially from anyone in the stuttering or accessibility community.

This is powerful, i can literallyfeel the intent behind it.

I like that you’re not trying to “fix” the person but support them when they need it, that’s a very different angle.

I feel like the key moment will be how seamless that first use is during a real call, because that’s where users trust is either built or lost.

How are you thinking about onboarding, especially for someone who might already feel anxious using something new in a situation as delicate as that.
