Is anyone actually measuring how AI answer engines represent their brand?
Over the past year, I’ve been studying how AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Copilot, Perplexity, Claude, etc.) surface and summarize brands.
Something interesting is happening:
Traffic from traditional search is declining
AI summaries are replacing blue links
Brands are being represented before users even click
But here’s the real question:
👉 Do companies know how they’re being cited, summarized, or interpreted by AI systems?
SEO tools measure rankings.
Analytics tools measure clicks.
But AI answer engines introduce a new layer:
Are you cited?
Which sources are used?
Are structured artifacts discoverable?
Is your brand being summarized accurately?
I’ve been building infrastructure to analyze this (AI-ready artifacts, citation telemetry, answer engine diagnostics), and I’m curious:
What are you seeing in AI Overviews / ChatGPT when you search your own company or product?
Accurate?
Outdated?
Not cited at all?
Pulling from unexpected sources?
Would love to hear real observations from founders, marketers, and builders here.
Feels like we’re entering the “AI visibility” era — but very few teams are measuring it yet.
Curious what the community thinks 👀
