Merge Conflict Digest: Daily Newsletter that covers Tech, Web Development, AI, Platform, and Crypto

by•

Hey Product Hunt 👋,

I built Merge Conflict Digest because I was tired of doomscrolling through X and Hacker News just to find a few good tech updates.

It’s a daily newsletter (5 days a week) that cuts through the noise, summarizing the most interesting engineering stories, product launches, and debates from across the web.

~80% of the heavy lifting is done by local LLMs using Ollama and golang code that orchestrates the flow. After that, I curate the final cut myself to make sure it’s genuinely worth reading.

The project costs me ~$15 a month for the email publishing service, and I am reusing a cloud server I use for a different project (Sudoculus Puzzles)

For top headlines, I also generate short audio versions, so you can listen on the go while pretending to work.

🧠 How it works

  • The backend code handles ingestion through well-recognized sources.

  • Local LLMs handle ingestion, summarization, and ranking.

  • I do the human pass: editing, cutting, and adding context.

  • Audio for top stories, using open source libraries to narrate the summaries.

  • All content delivered cleanly, no ads, no SEO filler.

This whole project is me testing how small local models can actually create real value, and how the human touch makes all the difference.

Would love if you’d check it out and tell me what you think:
