shipped v1.1 of skills janitor based on your feedback - now works with codex too

skills janitor hit #4 on product hunt last week. i didn't ask anyone to upvote, just put it out there and people found it.

but the best part was the comments. four people asked for specific features:

  • pre-install overlap check (before you add a new skill, check if it duplicates something you already have)

  • - context window token cost (show how many tokens each skill eats — turns out 14,300 were wasted on unused ones)

  • - simplify the commands (went from 9 to 7)

  • - cross-platform support

shipped all four in v1.1 the next day. also added openai codex support — same SKILL.md format, auto-detected, scanned in one pass.

check it: github.com/khendzel/skills-janitor

if you use claude code or codex and have more than a handful of skills installed, this might save you some context window budget.

Love the super quick iteration on feedback...shipping v1.1 the next day is impressive, especially Codex support!

Will check it out. If you're up for it, launching The Sponge on PH soon...AI-powered flashcard app that turns webpages into study material with spaced repetition. Would appreciate a follow (PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH link in profile).
