Title: I built an app to feel safer walking home at night (iOS launch 🚀)
Hi everyone,
For the past 2 years my co-founder and I have been working on an idea that came from real stories around us: friends (especially women) feeling unsafe walking home, parents waiting for a “text me when you get back” message, and people constantly sharing their location manually.
We built Soter, an iOS app that makes this easier:
Start a trip from A to B (e.g., club → home).
If you don’t arrive in time, your trusted contacts get an alert with your live location + video.
Quick buttons: “Follow me” and “SOS” for emergencies.
Fast call to local emergency services (112 in Europe).
We just launched on the App Store 🎉

We’d love your feedback 🙏. What do you think? What would you improve or add?
Thanks a lot!

Interesting implementation!
I’m curious how do you balance low-connectivity areas for live audio/video streaming?
does the app buffer the stream, switch to lower-quality video, or send alerts differently.
