I saw the website and read the descriptions. It seems very good, but I still can't see a big diference between a ton of other tools available, including Gemini itself in Google Workspace subscription (cheap and Gemini sumarize everithing that is said in a meeting). What am I missing here?
@thiago_franco Totally fair question and thanks for your interest!
Tools like Gemini are powerful, but where Shadow really stands out is after the meeting. We don't just summarize as we help turn those summaries into actual follow-through. Teams can act on discussions with perfect memory and understaning, without having to constantly dig through transcripts or notes
Also, Shadow runs locally which means no bots joining calls, no audio leaving your machine. This gives teams more privacy and control. That said, if you’re ever curious to test-drive it, we’d love your honest take!
Overall, it’s a solid tool for turning meetings into actionable outcomes. What stands out most is its ability to automatically capture and organize meeting content without having to join the call itself, making it far less intrusive than other solutions.

really cool, would love to be able to integrate it to chatgpt and slack and email as well - to collect my todo list from everywhere
@owenoktay Totally get that — and while Shadow does take great notes, it’s not just about note-taking. It’s really about helping you build a customized workflow for meeting follow-ups. Think of it as turning everything said in a meeting into actual outcomes — action items, summaries, messages, updates, whatever you need. Looking forward to hearing what you think!
Love the knowledge base. That's something I've been thinking about for a while, how we can essentially expand our brains and leverage all this knowledge that we have but may not quite remember. This seems like a good way to do it.
@jakejohnson21 Thanks so much! That’s exactly the vision — extending our memory so we don’t lose valuable ideas or insights. Excited that it resonated with you!

This is 🔥. Shadow nails a massive pain point—so many tools “summarize” meetings, but very few actually drive action. The fact that it extracts tasks, tracks insights, and keeps everything local (no bots, no cloud uploads) is a huge trust and productivity win.
Love how it turns meetings from passive recaps into real workflows. That “talk to task” bridge is where most teams stumble, and Shadow seems to have solved that with a clean, no-fluff approach.
Also: huge respect for the privacy-first mindset. No bots in meetings? Instantly a winner.
Congrats Jay and team—Shadow feels like the future of meetings

No meeting bot is my favorite thing about Granola. Interested to take a look at Shadow!
