When we created the Shortage app, it wasn’t just about building another tool—it was about creating something that could make a real difference. I’m Kseniia, the CEO of Shortage, and today, we’re excited to launch the Shortage app, a sub-product of the Shortage platform, on Product Hunt! The journey began three years ago, rooted in a volunteer initiative to support Ukraine during the war. From there, our mission grew, and so did our desire to scale this impact. That’s when we decided to build the Shortage app, a tech solution dedicated to helping nonprofits by connecting them with the items they need, directly from Shopify store inventories. The road wasn’t smooth, and there were moments where everything felt off. But thanks to Serhii’s leadership, we were able to push the app forward. His dedication even caught the eye of the Shopify team, and after their collaboration, I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted him onboard! Today, Shortage is more than just an app. It’s the culmination of passion, resilience, and the desire to make a difference. It’s not perfect—just like us—but it’s made with love. We hope this product takes off and leaves a meaningful impact on communities everywhere. Because sometimes, the best things are the ones that come from the heart!
