Slik - Get automated leads from a database of 70 million people 📊

by

Slik is a platform that automates sales prospecting and lead generation. We've built a database of over 70 million people and created a simple way to filter through that database so that salespeople can save time and easily find leads that they want to reach out to.

Slik is an advanced tool that is crucial to helping organizations grow. Really good overall experience using the platform.

Pros:

Advanced searching across a large set of reliable contacts.

Cons:

Nothing I can think of right now.

This reminds me of Jigsaw prior to the site being aquired by Salesforce in 2010. I used that site daily. One question? Why do you need a work email to sign up? Does it gather information or anything related? Thanks

How is this different from something like elucify?

What are your thoughts on social media data becoming a part of an omni-channel lead data set? Email is a noisy channel that has it's own risks (both legal and brand perception) as many have noted here.

This looks pretty neat. Does the million db contain countries from Europe?

This stuff is against any privacy law whatsoever =_=

It seems like a good start. Keep at it. :) I'm seeing oodles and oodles of dupes when I search for something as simple as people in transportation industry in Sacramento. I thought the pagination was broken at first but I'm still seeing them with 250 records at once. I also can't sort by company name at all when clicking on the column header.

Let me be one of the few people that actually delivers some criticism here. First of all, I think that launching a product that encourages cold emailing is bad taste. You're just enabling more SPAM this way. Instead of gushing over the fact that you're so young (props to launching a product at your age!), PH members should have given you advise on ethical entrepreneurship. Let me also add, that as of 2018 this product is illegal to use in Europe because of the new GDPR laws. Those laws state that it is not legal to store personal information of a person, unless storing that information is required to fulfil a contract you explicitly have with that person. Example: you can store personal details of a person when you sell something to that person, because fulfilling an order, requires you to have their personal details. Slik has no contract whatsoever with the people whose data they store. So my question is: are you going to make sure to only store people in your database that live outside of the EU? If so, how are you going to make sure that rule is enforced? It seems hard when scraping to know for sure that you only scrape non-EU citizens.

I'm a few days late here (blame it on the beach! haha), but I'm just as excited as everyone else to see @stefanstok and @soroushg_ launch @slik after all the time they've spent working so hard on it. Like a few other people here, I've been privy to parts of the building process, and had numerous discussion with Stefan on how things have progressed, culminating very much in their YC acceptance. Very happy to see it finally up, congrats guys!

Tired using it, but nothing really seems to work. Filters work so-so (seems to have to do with browser language settings), Once I have saved a list, I can't access it anymore - I don't get it... this seems to have been pushed out a bit prematurely...
