First, I must say, what a refreshing take on the "why" behind productivity! Few apps that enable storytelling and taking the team on a journey ... would have loved sth like this in my previous positions. Quick curiosity: In Story, do team members see how their tasks fit into the broader narrative? Like, a visual representation of the bigger picture?
@wintoniak Hi Constantin, Thanks for being here today! I'm glad that part resonates with you. Yes that's right, Story has a "Maps" feature built into it that helps you see different visualizations of how all of the different tasks and people connect to each other in your entire 'story'.
The awareness level can be fine tuned for the different roles you create in your team, so that you can find the right fit for what areas of the entire story people are privy to. Based on the roles you possess you get different level 'awareness' to see different levels of detail on whats happening throughout the various other stories in your project.
I tend to really enjoy transparent and open companies where anyone can see the whole picture of whats happening in the entire larger story. But I also understand the need to be able to fine tune those levels when dealing with sensitive information or personal preference etc. Story was built to help you strike that balance. But the result is essentially a real-time map of whats happening throughout your entire story!
@logan_bean Thanks for the super detailed explanation. That does indeed sound like a great product and approach, I am looking forward to giving this a try for my current project!
This looks amazing! 🤩
Can't wait to try it out!
I've been head of product twice and even though I'm super nerdy about all things process and automation, it's VERY difficult to find a solution that really works. This looks pretty promising.
Looking forward to the launch guys! Great job!
Your video is really well done! I can really see how versatile this tool would be as I could use it for my business, but also with another organization that I’m apart of.
Finally, a project management app that actually makes me excited about working on a project! In my years as an illustrator I’ve had experience using Monday.com, Teams, and Slack, and I’ve hated every single one. I wish that we had this product sooner!
@rachel_binford lol yes you get it Rachel. I can tell you are a kindred spirit 😂 project management software made by someone who hates project management software
Such a high-end video! Would LOVE to use this. I definitely feel some of the gap in my existing tools that Story is attempting to solve. I’m excited to support!
@naoto_shibata_morph Thanks Naoto! Yes, in fact the high level story for Story is to "Create a tool that helps increase human autonomy." We want to make a tool that makes it easier for humans to experience more meaningful work together, and literally one of the child-stories of that story is to "make it as accessible as possible" which includes building the mobile apps :)
I really like this idea! I'm a developer and sometimes it's hard for me to understand the big picture of task changes. Your way of creating a Story can help people understand the big picture 👏👏👏
@pawel_tomaszewski thanks Pawel! That’s my hope too :) Very cool to hear your thoughts about Story

@logan_bean Looks awesome.
How is team management & tiers going to work? Can an early-supporter who purchases manage a small team that can join the space for free? (Essentially, can I purchase to try with a few other people without having to get them to purchase?) Is there going to be medium & enterprise team tiers where you pay per seat or per company size, etc? Is hosting/managing a space/organization the only "purchase" necessary?
What about integrations? What if any are available? (Hopefully code hosting services like GitHub & design tools like Figma for sure.) Will your development team be building some of these or relying on open-source developers & outside companies to build these on their own agendas? Will Story strive to provide many common services built-in so it doesn't turn into an integration madhouse?
Many people hate switching between platforms for different tasks that use the same company data (Slack vs Teams vs Zoom, JIRA+Confluence vs Notion/Trello/other PM solutions). Will Story include all the usual features people tend to switch between platforms for (chat/messaging/meetings, documentation, tasking, tracking/analytics, version/change control, user feedback/bug reporting, etc.) or does Story intend to be a focused solution for a specific need, rather than a one-stop shop for everything? Even if it's focused right now, do you anticipate it becoming a one-stop shop for everything based on feedback down the road?
@dunnapey Hi Peyton, thanks for all your great questions. A lot of what Story becomes will ultimately be informed by our user feedback, but here are a few answers I can share with you right now.
Regarding the plan for early supporters, yes. You'll have a life-time plan that includes a specified number of guests who can play roles in the stories that exist inside your plan, and those people won't have to be paid users.
We haven't finalized that specific number of guests yet, but it will be more than enough for most people to run several teams under that plan.
Integrations = yes. Starting with just about anything you can imagine using tools like Zapier.
Story will most likely be a focused tool especially in its earliest days. I'd love to wave a wand and put absolutely everything anyone ever uses to connect and work together all under one roof, that would be amazing. But a vision like that probably won't be realized with Story in the early days. Our main focus is to be a kind of 'nervous system' or 'operating system' that helps all the parts of a teams 'body' unite together around a clear and collectively understood vision.
Once we have that nailed we'd love to play a bigger part in becoming as useful as possible, so please do keep telling us sounds important to you!
Thanks for your thoughts and feedback!

I'm sure it's on the roadmap, but can you talk a bit about how you see Story plugging into existing tools like Jira or Linear rather than requiring teams to switch over (or about migration if the plan is to have teams move)?
