Switchboard is your instant voice network. It gives you a hands-free intercom between close friends and colleagues to let you chat more spontaneously, as though you're in the same room. You control your availability so that you're easy to reach when you want and you can focus when you need.

Huge fan of this app. It makes my life at work much easier. Going to be an essential part of the future work-place (especially for teams that work from home or from various locations). This team is going to do BIG things!! Well done.

Pros:

Instant connectivity. High voice quality. Great UI/UX.

Cons:

Early development (few bugs, not many and to be expected)

I've used it for personal & professional. The results were always the same: Clear as a bell & easy to use. Great grandma could use it. I have a Cisco IP phone at home, and it sounds as clear as that device (it's easier & much faster to use though)

Pros:

clarity of voice, super easy to use, intelligently deciphers how it's intended to be used without pre-configuration by the user

Cons:

doesn't come with a free walkie-talkie (j/k didn't find any)

Been using the app for a few weeks now and I'm loving how easy it is to connect for real-time chats whenever and wherever I am throughout the day.

Pros:

Great for chatting on the go!

Cons:

Occasional audio bugs - mostly worked out

Great tool for communicating with dev team as our company's developers and other team members are spread out throughout Canada, US and Germany.

Wonderful to see new apps like these that simplies modern ways of working. I was wondering if what is being said remains confidential and how secure the app is? Also, would it be possible to add colleagues by emails instead of them needing to sign in first into the app? I think the opposite would allow to add more people faster... :)

@a_sky Thanks for reaching out. Check out what James (our CTO) wrote above for the answer to your security question (just two questions up the thread here). Yes, everything being said is confidential. RE adding friends, when you tap on the add friends button in the top right corner, you can share an invite link by email. You can also tap on the button with two people on it (also in the top right) and "Create team". Doing so allows you to create a link which you can then paste in an email chain. Note that every person that clicks this team link invite will be connected to everyone else that has ever clicked that invite (so keep your friends and colleagues separate!) Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!

@michael_reynolds Thank you for the answer! there were so many comments that I didn't go through them all ∞+ Using the Mac App I am not being able to recreate the steps with the add button > two people icon (private groupe for example)... I think a FAQ or quick tutorial video could be super useful when we discover new kind of products/services... 💡 I tested Switchboard with a colleague last night at the office and it worked pretty well. The only thing is that we felt once that would need to contact us through Switchboard could hear our office environment/discussion without us being aware of it... Is that possible or would it be like a one way audio in this case? Best thanks for your help 🙏

Great app that I didn't know I needed until I had it.

Not YET ubiquitous...yet.

Pros:

Seamless communication. Much better than having a landline or phone equipment. I can easily speak to coworkers with my iPhone

Cons:

Need to get more of my entrepreneurial friends on this, as well as my employees that I work with day-to-day
