TokenBar today: Pixel Agents, task alerts, and clearer usage context
Disclosure: this update is from Aura Technologies, the publisher of TokenBar. It was prepared with AI assistance from our current product documentation; it is not a customer review or a benchmark.
A quick update for people finding TokenBar through the older launches here: the current Mac app combines usage visibility with a Pixel Agents view of supported coding sessions.
Pixel Agents presents those sessions in a pixel art office, with project activity and attention states. On supported integrations, notifications can cover completed tasks, input requests, approvals, and stalls, with cooldown and timeout controls.
The usage side shows available allowances, credits, and reset timing. The spending overview includes recorded model usage value, cost history, and known monthly plan prices. These are different signals: recorded usage value should not automatically be read as your provider's invoice. AI subscriptions and API charges remain separate from TokenBar. Exact metrics and coverage depend on the integration and account, so check compatibility for your own setup.
There is also Mac context: CPU, memory, energy, and heat, plus dashboard and appearance customization.
Current requirements and pricing, checked October 3, 2026: macOS 14 or later; Pro is $15 once for a lifetime license on one Mac, and Basic is $5/month for one Mac. Download and choose a plan inside the app.

For anyone evaluating it, start with the provider/account combination you actually use and the event you want to notice: a reset, an input request, or a finished task. Which of those is hardest to keep track of in your workflow?
