Founder building a fitness app after years of strength training
I’m Michał, a solo founder from Poland and a long-time strength & calisthenics enthusiast. I’ve been training consistently for almost six years, and during that time I tested a lot of fitness apps — from simple workout logs to advanced coaching platforms.
What I noticed is that many apps either feel too generic or try to “gamify” everything, while people who train seriously often just want clarity, structure, and real progress tracking.
That’s why I decided to build my own app — GainTrail.
GainTrail is a fitness app focused on structured strength and bodyweight training. It’s designed for people who care about progression, training volume, and long-term consistency rather than random workouts. The core idea is simple: help users plan, track, and understand their training without unnecessary noise.
The app lets you build structured workouts, track sets, reps, and intensity, and follow your progress over time in a clean and readable way. I’m also working on features that help visualize training load and muscle involvement, because understanding what you actually train over weeks and months is something I personally missed in other tools.
I’m building GainTrail fully solo — from backend and mobile app to admin panel and infrastructure — and I recently launched an early version to start collecting real feedback. At this stage, the most important thing for me is learning: how people use the app, what feels intuitive, and what’s missing for athletes who train seriously but don’t need a “social fitness network.”
I joined Product Hunt to connect with other founders and makers, learn from your experiences, and hopefully exchange feedback. If you’re building something in fitness, health, or developer tools — or if you’ve gone through an early-stage product launch — I’d love to connect and learn from you.
If anyone’s curious, the product also has a public page on Product Hunt where I shared some basic details and updates:
