From Tech Veteran to Frustrated Fantasy Writer: Why I Built MythoScribe

by

I’ve spent the last 20 years building and designing web applications and websites for some of the best tech and design firms in the world. I understand complexity, UI/UX, and data architecture.

But when I finally sat down to write my own fantasy short story, all that experience couldn't save me from the creative fatigue caused by the tools themselves.

The process was broken. I was forced to use 3-4 different applications just to track a character's lineage, outline a chapter, and then type the final draft. The sheer effort of coordination and moving data around almost made me quit writing entirely.

I realized: existing writing tools are designed for continuous revenue (subscriptions, upgrades) or platform lock-in. They are not built for ownership or simplicity.

So, I took a step back. I decided to pour my two decades of experience into designing and building the application I desperately needed.

For the last 8 months, I’ve been developing MythoScribe. It had to be simple to use, but robust. No Social Media notifications, over-designed UI, or advertising distractions. Everything a writer needed had to be in one central, seamless app. No reliance on third-party databases, no mandatory AI, and absolutely no subscriptions that bait you into spending more just to bring your ideas to life.

I'm incredibly proud of the result. It’s an act of rebellion against creative friction. I hope it empowers you to focus 100% on your story.
