Derek Dunn

Hello from Derek!

by

Hey everyone, my name is Derek and I'm a pastor as well as a logistics professional during the week, and I've been building a side project called Storybourne in whatever time I can find outside of that.

It's a writing platform for fiction writers. The idea came from watching people try to manage their stories across five different apps and still lose track of their characters halfway through chapter twelve.

We went live a few weeks ago and have writers using it, which still feels strange to say. Chapters being published, readers leaving comments. Very small numbers but it's actually happening.

Excited to be on here. Happy to talk and collaborate, talk product, writing communities, or what it's like building something while juggling a full plate.

Congrats on the launch, Derek. There is something uniquely grounding about those first few users and comments when you’re building in the 'in-between' hours.

The problem you're solving is real, context fragmentation is the silent killer of creative flow. Whether it’s a character arc or a technical workflow, losing that 'memory' halfway through a project is where most people quit.

I’m currently heads-down on the infrastructure side of AI memory (MemoAir), so I have a soft spot for tools that help people manage complex context. Rooting for Storybourne!
