How 180 Snacks hired a standout Senior Packaging Designer (and made interviews… actually useful)

by

We’ve been building Intertru to replace gut-driven interviews with evidence you can trust—Discovery, Value Alignment, and role-real Working Sessions that reveal how people actually work.

Customer: 180 Snacks (CPG manufacturer)

Roles: Senior Packaging Designer, Operations Associate, Business Manager Assistant

Why it matters: They were hiring across creative + ops during a facility move, with a non-technical creative lead in the loop.

What happened

Calibrated “what good looks like” fast—first standout designer “passed all the tests with flying colors.”

Recruiter ramped quickly: “UI-wise it’s pretty easy to use… now I understand the purpose of each question.”

Reduced hand-holding: team asked to shift from weekly to bi-weekly/monthly check-ins.

Discovery Interview + Value Alignment exposed real signal (positioning, performance, cultural fit) instead of rehearsed answers.

Ask: If you’re hiring for value aligned high performers and want the playbook, comment DISCOVERY and I’ll drop our exact format.

180 Snacks needed to hire across creative and operations while prepping a move to a new facility. The creative director is intentionally non-technical—so the recruiting lead had to run structured sessions and let the director focus on the work quality (not admin).

Common pains they called out:

Unclear “what good looks like” across roles

Interviews drifting into opinions vs. evidence

Offer negotiations without knowing the candidate’s true decision criteria
