I built a chess variant where your moves are controlled by playing cards — try Card Chess!

I made a free browser game that mashes chess with a card mechanic — and it changes the game completely.

How it works:

• Draw a card each turn — the card dictates which piece type you can move

• 2–9 → move a Pawn | 10 → Knight | A → Rook | J → Bishop | Q → Queen | K → King

• Pull a Joker? Move any piece you want 🃏

• White always draws first, and the game ends when a King is captured (and not just checkmate!)

• The deck reshuffles when it runs out

It removes the "always optimal move" problem in chess — sometimes you're forced into a bad position because the card doesn't cooperate. Strategy meets luck in a fun way.
