I’m building WordToTime.org, a small utility site focused on one simple problem:
figuring out how long something actually takes to say out loud.
The Speaking Time Calculator lets you:
Paste your script and estimate speaking time based on realistic WPM
Listen to your text using your browser’s built-in voice (no server, no uploads)
Adjust speaking rate, pitch, and volume
Follow along with real-time word highlighting while it reads
Everything runs locally in the browser using the Web Speech API. Your text never leaves your device.
I originally built this for rehearsing presentations and talks, and I’m continuing to improve it based on real usage.
