I made a Reddit community for my product, getting 4,500+ followers in just 3 months

It's a great way to validate demand, build a user base/community before launching, and just have fun posting memes.

My subreddit is /r/LearnedWrong, which I built for my (not launched on PH yet) site Retrocodex. It's a space where you discover what you've been taught in school or everyday life that's now outdated or was always a myth. Since what everyone has been taught varies by location, you can see what users from your state or country have submitted and commented.

I made the subreddit on Halloween 2025 when I was still working on the user research and product design for Retrocodex. I made the subreddit to further validate demand, get some experience managing a community for the first time, discover more misinformation and untrue facts I've learned, and to have fun! I've been stuck at 4,500 members since I haven't been posting much, so I'll get back on that.

I mostly post memes and jokes on there, all related to "what have you learned that's actually wrong?" For the actual facts, please visit Retrocodex! There might be some bugs I gotta work on, but hey, at least you'll probably learn what your parents or teachers taught you that's actually wrong.

Looking forward to learning what myths you had to unlearn!
