Launching a platform where screenwriters can pitch producers directly via 60-second selfie videos
Hey everyone,
I’m Jon Shaivitz, a filmmaker who just launched a new platform called Pitcheroo.
After spending 20 years trying to break into the film industry, I kept running into the same issue: unless you already have connections, it’s extremely hard to get your script in front of real decision makers.
At the same time, producers are constantly looking for new material, but the pipeline for discovering scripts is fragmented and inefficient.
So I built Pitcheroo—a pitching marketplace where screenwriters can pitch producers directly.
One of the key innovations is that pitches are sent as 60-second selfie videos, so producers can quickly review ideas and decide whether to pass or request the script. It also lets writers show their personality in a way written pitches can’t.
And if a producer requests the script, the writer’s pitch fee gets refunded 100%.
The goal is to make the pitching process more accessible, more human, and more transparent.
Would love to hear feedback from this community—especially from anyone who has experience in film, TV, or creative marketplaces.
Launches tonight at midnight!
Thanks everyone!

Hi Jon! Interested in the concept. What's your plan for getting producers on the platform?
@jeff_benson1 Thanks, Jeff! We launched in October with 9 producers, have 14 live right now and 4 more to be added in coming days. We've signed most of them through existing relationships and some cold outreach.
