PetMovie.ai – Using AI to celebrate a pet’s life now and gently remember them later
Hey everyone 👋
I’m Lara, a solo maker working on something in the pet / AI space and I’d love your feedback as I shape it.
Most pet parents I know have hundreds of photos and short clips of their dogs or cats.
When the pet is here, those moments end up on TikTok, Instagram, family chats.
When the pet is gone, the exact same camera roll suddenly feels like a very fragile archive.
I’m building PetMovie.ai – Pet Memorial & Movies around a simple idea:
One place where you can celebrate your pet’s life while they’re here,
and that can later become a gentle way to remember them after they cross the Rainbow Bridge.
The product has two paths:
🎉 Celebrate Life – fun, high-energy mini movies for pets who are still with us (birthday, daily chaos, hero dog moments, etc.).
🕯️ Honor a Memory – a slower, more intentional flow to create a cinematic tribute and an online memorial page for pets who have passed.
I’m using AI video models to turn static pet photos into short cinematic stories, but I’m very aware this can easily cross into “uncanny” or feel like a gimmick — especially on the memorial side.
I’d really appreciate thoughts from this community of builders and tech folks on a few things:
Does combining celebration + memorial in one product feel natural to you, or emotionally confusing?
For the memorial journey, what would make the experience feel dignified and human, not like a novelty filter?
If you’ve built or used products around grief / memory before (not just for pets), what worked well and what didn’t?
I’m still iterating on the flows and tone, so any feedback, criticism, or references would be super helpful.
Happy to answer questions about the tech side or share more details if anyone’s curious. Thanks for reading 🙏
