StreamVision is now on iOS — free, ad-free IPTV player for iPhone, iPad & Apple TV

by

Hey everyone,

A quick update on StreamVision — the free, open-source IPTV player I've been building as a solo dev.

A few weeks ago I shared StreamVision here for Android and Android TV. Today, it's officially available on the App Store.

What StreamVision does

It's a clean, fast IPTV player. You bring your own M3U playlist or Xtream Codes credentials, and StreamVision handles the rest — Live TV, Movies, Series, EPG, subtitles, Chromecast.

The whole thing is free. No ads. No premium tier. No "upgrade to unlock EPG." Everything works from day one.

What's new with the iOS version

  • Native iOS interface for iPhone and iPad

  • M3U and Xtream Codes API support (same as Android)

  • Full EPG (Electronic Program Guide)

  • Subtitle support

  • Resume playback across sessions

  • Automatic season/episode grouping for series

The goal is full feature parity with Android. Some features are still catching up (Chromecast on iOS is in progress), but the core experience — add your playlist, watch your content — is solid.

Quick recap of what's included across all platforms

  • 100% free, ad-free, open source

  • M3U playlists (URL or local file) and Xtream Codes API

  • Dedicated sections for Live TV, Movies, and Series

  • Reworked EPG with clear schedule navigation

  • Subtitle support for movies and series

  • Hardware-accelerated playback (ExoPlayer on Android, AVPlayer on iOS)

  • Leanback UI on Android TV / Google TV / Fire TV Stick

  • Chromecast support (Android)

  • Multilingual interface

Why I built this

Most IPTV players are either stuffed with ads, lock basic features behind a paywall, or haven't been updated in two years. I wanted something I'd actually enjoy using — stable, clean, and honest about what it does. Making it open source keeps me accountable on that.

What's next

  • Chromecast support on iOS

  • Performance tuning on older devices

  • More languages based on feedback

  • Features the community asks for — I read everything

If you've tried the Android version and had feedback, I'd love to know if the iOS version addresses it. And if you're new to StreamVision, I'd appreciate hearing what you think.

What IPTV player are you currently using on iOS? Anything you wish it did better?

Thanks for checking it out.

Legal note: StreamVision is a media player. It does not provide any content, playlists, or subscriptions. Users provide their own M3U / Xtream sources and are responsible for respecting copyright.
