We tested multiple AI models inside our WooCommerce chatbot — here’s what we learned
Hey Product Hunt 👋
We recently ran a simple test inside Fabio AI Chatbot (our WooCommerce plugin connected to stores with a 1000 products catalogs).
We asked different AI models the exact same product query:
“I am looking for a power bank that can last 10 hours and costs less than 50 USD”
All models gave correct answers — but the differences were more about how they answered than what they answered.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
ChatGPT 5.3 Instant (~5s)
Returns multiple relevant products
Clean, structured, easy to scan
→ Feels like a strong default for ecommerce

Gemini (Flash / Lite ~8.5s)
More verbose, more context
Slightly more “human” tone
→ Better for conversational UX

Mistral (2.2s – 3.3s)
Very fast
Often returns a single best match
→ More like a decision engine than a search assistant

You can read the full test on our blog, yet what we found interesting is that:
👉 It’s not really about accuracy (they all work)
👉 It’s about the type of experience you want to create
Do you want to give users options?
Or guide them with more context?
Or just give the fastest possible answer?
We’re currently defaulting to ChatGPT for balance, but depending on the store, the “best” model can change a lot.
Curious to hear from other makers here:
👉 What matters most for you in an AI chatbot: speed, multiple results, or conversational tone?
Would love your feedback 🙌
