Where Checkin is headed next: building the People + Places layer for real life
Thread message
I want to share the bigger vision behind Checkin and get your honest feedback.
Checkin has two pillars: People and Places.
People is the real-time layer: Nearby 1:1, Circles, and now Live Events to help you meet others who choose to show up in the same moment.
Next we’re going deeper on Places. The goal is simple: make the app more alive every time you open it. Every good conversation needs a home, and great venues need a way to spark the right kind of energy without spamming people.
So we’re building the Places engine (Checkin Places) so venues can share what’s on, offers, and moments worth checking into in a way that feels useful, local, and time-based.
I’d love feedback on:
What would make Checkin feel like a “must open” when you’re heading out?
What should venues be able to post that wouldn’t feel annoying?
What would make you trust a place or a Circle enough to show up?
If you could wave a wand, what’s the one feature you’d add next?
