If this software could help people whose native language isn't English learn English, that would be even better.

It reminds me of Anki with a better user interface. There isn't a lot of context and that can be problematic for languages such as Japanese. For example, the sentence structure is different in Japanese than English so it's one thing to understand a word and another on how to use it. I'm honestly not sure how helpful it is for Japanese. For French, on the other hand, the sentence structure is close to English so memorizing the words may be helpful for reading at least.
