Yesterday I almost prayed to God. I’m an atheist.

Right before bed I did my usual “sanity check” in Votap.

Tap around. Cast a vote. Make sure everything works.

It didn’t. Nothing was loading.

Heart rate instantly 2x. Computer open. Logs open. Debug mode on:

“What did I break?”

“Is the database down?”

“Did I deploy something wrong?”

“Is this the end?”

I was already mentally preparing to:

→ Pull the kill switch

→ Restore from backups

→ Write the “sorry guys” post

After 20–30 minutes of pure stress… I found it.

Our backend payment method didn’t have enough funds for the monthly service. LOL 🤣

Startup life is glamorous.
