We re letting users take over Votap
One thing that s been really cool lately? The emails.
People telling us what they like.
What they d change.
Which politicians we should add next.
I answer as many as I can, but it made me realize something:
If Votap is about public opinion
then the app itself should be shaped by public opinion too.
So in the next update (coming very soon), we re adding a proper feedback space directly inside the app.
You ll be able to:
Suggest features
Request politicians
Comment on ideas
Upvote what you want to see next
Other users can vote on suggestions too so we build what people actually care about.
Votap is a people platform first.
So the product should evolve with the people using it.
We want this live before our next bigger user acquisition push (aiming much higher next time ).

With the recent spike in users, something really cool started happening inside our app.
People aren t just voting.
They re also explaining their reasons.
In just a short time, we ve crossed 321 total comments across politicians.

Different views. Different countries. Real opinions.
And this is exactly what we hoped for.
Next step?
We re adding replies.
So instead of top-level comments, you ll be able to respond to each other and build proper discussion threads. Votap is meant to be a platform shaped by opinions, not just charts.

We just crossed 1,000 users?!
The growth lately has been crazy. A bit overwhelming in the best way.
I remember going to concerts in my hometown with about 1,000 people in the crowd. A full room. Loud. Packed.
Now imagine that same room but every single person downloaded your app, registered, and voted. Over 1,000 real humans who cared enough to try Votap.
That blows my mind a little.
Only 1,000x more to hit 1 million. Easy, right?

What happened today shocked me
We added a new politician to Votap Zack Polanski based on user suggestions.
In the first minute:
22 votes
4 comments
and the chart started moving
Watching the feedback live within seconds that was one of those okay, this can be big moments.
We re at 689 users now.
Imagine this when it s 10,000. 100,000. 1 million.
That spike of activity was proof that people care and they re ready to express it.

New Votap promo video just dropped! (turn sound on)
Instagram video ads keep working best for us, so we re doubling down there.
This one s new:
Built the mockups with Promo Gen (Canva still can t do proper mockup videos )
Much easier for showing the app in motion
Would honestly recommend it if you re doing app ads
Also, we re 8 users away from 500, which still feels a bit unreal.

Our app was sh*t? Just temporarily.
A bug was reported through our in-app feedback channel where some users saw an error screen when they shouldn t have.
In a few cases, people couldn t even register. That truly sucks.
As a developer, you mostly use your app in perfect conditions. Real users don t.
I ve seen this screen once in almost a year and it made sense then. For others, it didn t.
This is exactly why:
real users matter
real feedback matters
and a direct feedback channel is essential
Without it, we d be losing users silently and that s the scariest failure of all.
Huge thanks to everyone who reported it (even the angry ones). Most genuinely wanted to help, and that means a lot.
