Subtitles feel solved now — but how do you translate text inside videos?

It feels like speech and subtitles are mostly solved now.

But one part of video localization still feels surprisingly manual:
text that appears inside the video itself.

  • Slides.

  • UI screens.

  • Signs.

  • Product labels.

  • Graphics with embedded text.

If you want to translate those, the workflow usually becomes messy — recreating graphics, editing frames, or just leaving the text as-is.

Curious how others deal with this today:

  • How do you handle translating text that appears inside videos?

  • Do you edit it manually, rebuild the visuals, or use some other workflow?

In my experience, translating text inside videos is still very hands-on. When I deal with slides or UI screens, I usually export the frame, edit it in a design tool and replace the text with my translated version. Then I place it back into the video. It works but it definitely adds time to the process. I personally feel this part of video localization hasn’t been fully automated yet.

@itohan_blessing_eigbadon We actually just launched Visual Translate, which automatically translates text inside videos (slides, labels, graphics, etc.). No project files needed — just upload the video and it detects and replaces the on-screen text.

Would love for you to try it:
