Zenkit is just great. Easy and uncomplicated to start with but extremely customizable and virtually with no limits. You can really adapt it to your way of working, it grows with you. I can't recommend it enough!

The subtasks feature is a great step forward! I have some suggestions:
1. When the Task List add-on is active, checking a parent task will automatically check all the subtasks, but checking all the subtasks will not automatically check the parent task. Can this feature be added?
2. Parent tasks do not usually contain actual data for every field. They usually aggregate this from their subtasks. Item 1 is an example. Another example could be Duration. Any plans for this sort of thing. (Of course, this is all leading to the topic of Gantt Charts, which I know is in the plan).

1. We discussed this before the release and decided against it because there are definitely items that
are more than just the sum of their subitems. However, we might change our minds if more users request
this behavior. I created a feature request for it :-)
2. At least for the "duration" example, you can already do this with recursive formulas! Here is how:
Let's say you have a number field called "Duration" and a subitems field called "Subitems".
Now you can create a formula field, using the following syntax:
sum({Subitems:Duration}) + Duration

Im watching Zenkit since the beginning. Originally as an asana alternative. Nowadays as a workflowy alternative.
Finally Zenkit has the functionality as with workflowy. Unlimited sub and sub-subtasks.
This is a huge step forwards. We'll done:)
Unfortunately I miss 3 things:
1. Easy integration with workflowy through .OPML import. I have so many notes, and it would take 4ever to transfer them to Zenkit without an easy integration.
2. Not great for note-taking.
While Zenkit might be good as a todo and productivity app, for my user case it's not good enough.
I want to use Zenkit for todos in the team as well as taking private notes for writing books and having references.
For this use case workflowy is much much better for its simplicity.
There are to many steps to create a subtasks comparing to WorkFlowy.
Adding notes in the description part is just too small area.
3. The app is too complicated comparing to WorkFlowys app.
Too many steps before a task / note is added, too small fields to add description / Infos for note-taking.
Now you have a functionality like workflowy has, but the way how you created it is way too complicated. Please improve it.

There will be another exciting update coming within the next weeks!

This feature is what we were looking for for a long time. My dev team loves it. I am the co-founder of a German startup and we started using Zenkit a couple months ago for our Scrum Planning and knowledge conservation.

Subtasks + Task List add-on = Problem
Hi, I've found an issue with subtasks when the Task List add-on is activated and the checkbox is linked to a label ("Done" state, for example).
If I check an item, its state will change to "Done", as expected. But what if I made a mistake? When I uncheck it the item's state reverts to what appears to be the first state entered when I created the field (in my case, "To Do"). It does not remember its previous state. There should ALWAYS be a way of "undoing" an action.
The introduction of subtasks magnifies this problem. Let's say I have a parent task with a large number of subtasks, say about 20 or more. Each subtask has one of several possible states selected. In Hierarchy View, if I check the parent task automatically, all subtasks are set to "Done", as expected. But again, what if that was a mistake? I uncheck the parent task and all subtasks exhibit the same behavior as mentioned previously, reverting to the same initial state. I have no idea what all of their states were before that mistake, and it becomes a huge task to recover.
This is a serious liability for this combination of features. When we change a label state via the normal interface, it is intentional and rarely an accident, but hitting a checkbox has a much higher possibility of being done accidentally. I hope you can do something about it. Every task label must keep track of it's current and previous settings, so an "Undo" at least 1 level deep is possible.

Small mistake in the details above: unchecking a parent task does not revert the subtasks to their initial state, it simply does nothing to them, leaving them in their "Done" states.

This tool is much appreciated, I just started using it, but from the few I got to see for now, I am really impressed. I surly plan to use this in the future, for professional life as well as personal life. A real life saver!

Zenkit is such an amazing tool. I've been using for a couple of years now and it keeps getting better and better. I used it to manage my school work while getting my degree and still use it for my side projects and tasks. Incredibly versatile and easy to use. Love the ability to create custom fields and now the sub-tasks will make the experience even better. Way to go Zenkit team!

Simply the best. I tried Notion but came back. Wouldn't mind more themes and colour pallets. But there is so much value here. Keep up the great work.
