Hello world 👋 I’ve been working on this for a while, so this is honestly pretty surreal to finally share. The idea for Awaken came from something super simple I kept noticing… Every morning, the first thing I’d hear was my alarm — and I’d instantly feel stressed. Not like full panic or anything, just… a mood killer before my day even started. And it always felt normal, because that’s just how alarms are. But at some point I started thinking about it more — like why are we all starting our day like that? The first few minutes after you wake up are kind of a weird state. You’re not fully awake yet, your brain is more impressionable, and whatever hits you in that moment kind of sets the tone. So I started wondering... What if your alarm didn’t do that? What if it actually helped you start your day in a better state instead? That’s where Awaken came from. It wakes you up to natural, gradual sounds, and then instead of just silence (or immediately grabbing your phone), it speaks a personalized daily message out loud — something to help you start calm, focused, or even just a little more grounded. All right from your lock screen. The goal wasn’t to make a “cool alarm app” — it was really just to improve how mornings feel for everyone, because that first moment actually matters more than we think.
