A free browser game where you're a bird over a city that will not shut up. Car alarms, sirens going nowhere, leaf blowers, someone's party. Find the racket, drop on it, earn the silence back. Four cities, 90 seconds a round, no signup. Sound on.
Hi Product Hunt.
A couple of years ago I ran Facebook ads to test a handful of alarm app ideas against each other, and I threw a boring one in only so the others would have something easy to beat, an alarm that wakes you with birdsong. The birds won, and not by a hair, and I've been building around that accident ever since.
Birds On Watch is the silly end of it. You're a bird over a city that will not shut up, and your ammo is exactly what you think it is. Everything loud throws out rings you can see, so you can hear the racket and then go and find it, and when you silence something the noise drains out of the mix and the music comes up. That's the whole feedback loop, it's a game about noise so it really is worth turning the sound on.
There are four cities and a round is 90 seconds, so it costs you almost nothing to try. New York is at 10pm and the other three are morning, and the night one is a genuinely different game because you're hunting lights instead of shapes.
It's free, there's no signup and no ads. It plugs my bird alarm app at the end, which I'd rather say up front than have you discover.
The thing I'd love feedback on: it's a 2D canvas with no engine, and I've been fighting the camera for weeks trying to make a flat city feel like something you fly over. Whether that lands is the bit I can't judge any more.

Fun little game, played on iPad, worked well!
