Boid is a social network powered by distributed computing. You can run the Boid app on your computer to contribute your computers spare resouces towards scientific discovery. The Boid leaderboards rank users based on their contributions. You can join a team and compete for crypto prizes. The app is available for Windows, OSX or Linux.
I am running BOID on every computer I have :)
Pros:easy to use, free, EOS based, great community, you can earn crypto, you can stake to earn more...
Cons:nothing so far
Social side adds a great competitive side too. Very motivational!
Pros:Super easy to use Earn a good source of income in an appreciating crypto Do good for the word
Cons:None per se - but the roadmap looks exciting with improvements coming to project flexibility etc

If you want to contribute to a good cause while earning some crypto AND having fun, then BOID is the right app for you.
Pros:-> Easy to use; -> doesn't require a last-gen PC; -> helpful team; -> you can join teams, stake earned tokens and more.
Cons:IMHO, the main site would need a visual upgrade. It's really ok to use, but some polishing here and there would be great.
As a distributed computing application based on block chain, users are growing rapidly and installing it in company and home PC. We are proud of contributing to the affordability of your pc in industry and science, and you can get tokens more than anything else. I recommend it.
Pros:The boid is very easy to use, lightweight and quietly working in the background.
Cons:The simplicity of the main screen is good, but needs improvement.
You get to join teams and compete for periodical prizes and rewards and this turns the act of social computing for good into a reward based game and community.
Pros:Donate unused CPU for rewards whilst casually dropping into conversation that you are helping accelerate the search for a cure for cancer.
Cons:A small learning curve exists with anything crypto related. We all have to make the leap eventually and BOID incentivises the first steps.
This is a win win product. Contribute to society, learn about crypto technologies and participate in the future of blockchains and tokenomics
Pros:Extremely simple to get up and running. Great support on telegram. Help others using your PC's unused resources just makes common sense.
Cons:Would like to see users able to harness GPU power as well as CPU.
