Hi, my name is Vladislav, and I'm the sole developer of Bowdler. I've been into YouTube and video editing since childhood. Watching every video, I pay attention to almost every editing detail and always found myself asking the same question - can't the most boring tasks just be automated? Then the AI era came, but the problem didn't really get solved. The greedy cloud structure took over the video editing space, where overpricing is completely normal. $99 plugins for FCP that use its own built-in features, a special hello to you :) The problem is... Want to make subtitles? Final Cut Pro only supports English, and most other tools are either paid or a pain to use. Silence removal? Workarounds with no proper UI/settings, or back to the cloud. Profanity removal? $20-100 per month for limited processing built on the simplest technology imaginable - far simpler than they'd like you to think. One evening, having thoroughly enjoyed these prices, I wrote a simple script using Whisper. After several months of almost daily work, Bowdler was born - a tool I built first and foremost for myself. Then came 32 language support, two additional processing modes, Final Cut Pro integration, and a proper interface. 99% of the app works locally. No cloud, no subscriptions, no limits, no yet another cloud business model designed to empty your wallet. This app took an enormous amount of time and effort to build.
