Checkbook is awesome as a B2B payment system. I'm implementing their API with the help of Sid and allow my customers to pay me via ACH right from our system. The benefits over doing a bill pay from their bank is that customers can initiate a payment on their own from our platform, don't need to wait for me to send them an invoice. In comparison, using bill.com API to receive money requires you to pay a basic monthly fee + an API monthly fee + per ACH fee. Dwolla is also more expensive for receiving ACH payments through API integration.

Full disclosure here: I used to be a Checkbook.io employee.
BUT, I still use the service and I can share a major way I use it that is very applicable to most people:
Rent
After accepting his first digital check, my landlord loves it. I have it on recurring and it's autosent each month on time and he does nothing but see the email receipt to know its processing. This was after trying to get him to use Paypal or Venmo; we used Chase quick pay for a while, but that was tough since we had to pay separate payments over two days because of the amount limits.
And, of course, I do not have paper checks and have not since college, so there was no easy way to pay our landlord until we both decided on Checkbook.io as the best option amongst everything else.
I love these types of services that look to solving the problems of bridging the gaps between dated yet commonly used conventions with digital solutions. Fax is another thing that comes to mind.

This is one of the few times I can say that Canada is ahead of other countries. All debit cards are provided by Interac (a non-profit set up by the large banks), and you can transfer money to anyone else with a bank or credit union account in Canada via text or email for free.
@kamran_ahmed It is. Try https://www.chequebook.io - it may give you a temporary SSL warning (which we will fix shortly ) but both domains i.e. chequebook.io as well as checkbook.io
@kamran_ahmed We will internationalize everything i.e. have two versions i.e Checks and Cheques and display the default based on source IP country. Give us some time - we'll do it soon as we start going International
