There really isn't a better site like it yet. Plenty of useful information, helpful people, etc. On-site generation is very affordable. Search and filter features need work - your content rating filter settings are in your user settings, which adds several extra steps to choosing on the spot if you do or don't want to see adult content. You can block entire tags - but again - what about when you DO want to see whatever? Then you have to go and unblock the tags. Reporting could use some work - and the rules might need to spell things out a bit more clearly. Some folks get a bit overzealous and will report your lewd CHIBIS or monster girls that happen to be drawn in a cutesy style, and then your images get removed. That's annoying, but I can live with it.

I have been using Civitai for few months now. Honestly it's pretty good, makes creating images easy and even if you are a total noobie you can look which models and promps others have used to get pointers on how it works. I would give 5 starts, but only issue I have faced is that site some times is really slow. I have seen admin post about how they are upgrading since they are getting more and more trafic so I hope it will get better. This far I have only been using free buzz, and I can create usually 2 different image sets a day that Im happy with, which I think is fare enough, that's still like 100+ free images a day. Of course buzz needed is going down since I have gotten better at prompting and getting what I want in fewer tries. I have to say I don't really get what others are commenting about cp or beastiality. In my time I haven't seen any beastiality. I have hidden furry content so I don't know about that side, and to be honest I don't really care since it has been and can be hidden from the start. And only few images that seem to be on way too young territory. I guess what people count as cp might be subjective, mostly it's just youngish looking characters that could easily be interpeted as 18, like some disney or anime characters. I did notice tho with some models if you try to create cute & small boobs from high view angle, it some times makes the characters look way too young, but I haven't encountered those in my feed. This far I have gotten what I have wanted, cute animals, beautiful land scapes, cool magic + warriors and of course sexy ladies. Generation side would get 5/5 from me. I have really liked the service and In seriously considering buying at least the lowest sub in the future.

I personally use this website a lot, however there are a ton of issues that are either annoying, or just terrible. First Issue: There is indeed a lot of pornographic images depicting child/young looking characters in user posted images. However, you can report "realistic" underage content since that goes against their TOS but anything that is anime/cartoonish are not? I don't know why that is the case as it still is depicting underage characters in sexual situations or nude. Second issue: Bots, Lots and Lots of bots! My goodness, if I could get a nickel for each user I have blocked/hidden I would live comfortably in the current economy. There are indeed a lot of members with usernames like "asd123494" etc. And there are plenty of buzz harvesting accounts that are just there to post a lot of images just to get buzz. This is annoying since I like to look at user image posts to see what a particular models does. But sometimes images are not even related to the model or are "Cross Posts" linking to another lora so it isn't indicative to what that lora/model does. On a side-note, there really should be a limit to how many models can be uploaded by one user. There are some members that post 10-20 models a day and it floods the model pages with their content. I am sure they are either Buzz farming or just uploading a ton of low quality models. It's annoying for sure, but at least you can block that user. Third Issue: Buzz earned is really low, and has very little value other than cosmetics which I might add are terribly expensive. Feels extremely grindy and more inline with a MMORPG with how little you get. I could care less to even bother with it since I am only using the website to download models, and any models that are "early-access" and require buzz I ignore. There is usually a 7-day wait until it is free to download, and I am quite content waiting for that timer. I won't spend what little buzz I get on a model that may not even work or is poorly trained. Unless there is some form of quality control from civitai, I won't use that feature. Fourth Issue: While Civitai does offer online image generation and model training, it is very lackluster. I have tested it versus running training on my local machine with the same exact dataset and parameters and the results are not as good as doing it locally. Generating images online are sub-par as well. If you can run A1111 locally, I would recommend it over the website, you don't need buzz, there are more features, and the quality of the images is miles better than Civitai's website generator. Heck I would even prefer MidJourney before I would consider Civitai's generator. TLDR: * Civitai's website is best used as a model database for downloading models that are made by creators. Like the model, tip them directly not with buzz. * Too much porn/child porn * Generators/model creator is terrible * Cash-grabby with their Buzz gimmick. (yes it's a gimmick) * Too many bots, admins doing nothing to filter those accounts.

Hey there, Thanks for laying out your issues so concisely, I'll do my best to answer in kind: 1st issue: Minors in any style in a mature context are against our ToS. We have a lot of automated systems to detect this content as it’s uploaded but stuff can slip through the cracks. Please report it if you find it. 2nd issue: Botting is an issue for any platform. We've taken a lot of steps to better identify and remove bots, but we're continuing to make improvements. 3rd issue: We designed the ability to earn buzz for users that wanted to use the onsite trainer or generator but didn't have the means to pay for it. Instead you earn buzz by adding value to the site. If you're not using the onsite trainer or generator then yes, buzz doesn't have much use to you currently. There is a system for vetting the quality of models in early access: we vet the users who are able to do it. In general users need to prove that they are "good actors" before they can post anything into early access. 4th Issue: Training can differ a lot based on the machine you're using and your own ability to parse your dataset. If you have a beefy GPU and the ability to do so you should be training and generating locally for best results. That said, we're constantly improving these systems and should be closing the gap shortly.

It's an amazing community, with great features like a built-in generator, space to store assets, train new models and way more. They host cool contests, and offer a lot of different types of spaces for tutorials and displaying your generations for both static images and video (with sound) ✨ If you like generative AI it's the place to be.

Unbeatable community but their service can be buggy and unreliable as their prod lives on the bleeding edge seemingly without appropriate testing/QA and things rapidly change (such is the way of AI). Don't make it a hard dependency in your systems

Filtering and child porn is absurd. Mods still won't remove all the blatant porn that involves children either realistic or cartoons. On top of that they have terrible filters that won't hide things that you clearly have blocked before. On top of that the models that are uploaded are NOT curated or at least checked to see if they even work. Be prepared to sort through a CRAP TON of non-working/test models that don't even work, not including the poorly trained ones that flood the website from users with random numbers and letters for usernames that are clearly bots/burner accounts to bypass their TOS. I really wish there was another website besides them. Very monopolistic.

Hey there, We're very strict about content that breaks our ToS. If you find content like that please report it so it can be promptly removed. Like any big community site you're gonna have a lot stuff posted, some good some bad, its reccomended to make sure you're filtering by what people are reacting to and upvoting to see the quality stuff

I truly believe Civitai will be the absolute market leader in community and AI Art creation wise. I tried so many sites, but these guys, they have what it takes to turn visions into reality. And I support this as much as I can. you can find my work under "Ethanar" on there, I'm close to 60k generations in - which says enough on its own :)

I've been on this site since early 2023, they're supportive, they're down to earth and they pretty much do their damndest for everyone. They're great in terms of propping up smaller and larger creators, and allowing for a large diverse set of people. There's always something for someone.

Hey there! What additional interactions would you like? Currently we live stream 4 days a week and take questions and concerns from the community then. We have a very active discord where we engage hourly and put updates on the site all the time based on whats currently happening.

This is where I go to see what the community is creating, which makes it possible to see the prompts, loras and other special techniques employed by the creators. Great way to learn!
