Editable GIFs lets you customize and render animated GIFs directly inside your Discord server. Whether you're wishing a server member a Happy Birthday, celebrating a milestone, saying good morning, or sending a festive seasonal greeting, you can tailor text, select colors, and choose fonts without opening an external image editor. 100% In-Discord Experience: Everything happens inside your channel using intuitive slash commands and popups.

Hello Produt Hunt!
What if you could create a personalized GIF without ever leaving Discord?
Editable GIFs brings customizable animations right into your Discord channels. Pick a template, change the text, colors, and fonts, and get your personalized GIF back in seconds.
How it works:
I make GIF templates using Canvas Language (my animation programming language).
Discord loads a menu of GIF templates.
User chooses a GIF to personalize.
User can change select colors, fonts, and text.
Once submitted, the details are sent to a Google Cloud Run service that generates the gif.
After about 5-20 seconds, the customized gif appears in channel.
Future plans:
I'll add support (inside Discord) for most of 1500 gif templates that are on the website.
I'll make it possible to allow other people to create templates of their own - no need to just use the ones that I make.
For now this is free, but Google Cloud Run isn't, so there will have to be some kind of payment system sooner than later.
I have a Slack app prototype that does the same thing, but never released. If this flies, I'll release Slack as well.
The Bigger Picture:
White label the rendering engine. There are countless apps and services that could use customized gifs for their users. Creating them is as simple as a GET request to the Google Run service. I want to open it up. Plus, that could be combined with the ability for anyone to create their own templates. This means Acme Coffee Shop can have Acme branded personalized gifs.
Please send your feedback and ask questions. Are personalized GIFs something you'd actually use? What other platforms or applications would you like to see this available in? Would this be a useful feature within your own products?
