The fastest, most frictionless way to capture your ideas with voice and create actions with them in tools like Notion, Slack, Asana, Todoist, Clickup, Obsidian, and more.
If you’re like me, most of your ideas don’t show up when you’re sitting at your desk. They come when you’re walking, driving, or in the middle of something else.
The problem? Getting those thoughts into a place where they’ll actually be useful is a pain. Unlocking your phone, finding the right app, dodging notifications, and typing it all out adds too much friction.
That’s why we built Epiphany, to make it as frictionless as possible to put your ideas to work with voice.
🎙️ Why Epiphany?
→ Capture thoughts instantly without breaking focus.
→ Send where they need to go in the tools you already use.
→ Just open, speak, send.
🎙️ What’s next?
🚀 More integrations. You’ll be able to upvote your favorites inside the app (coming soon).
🚀 AI-powered prompting and smart field population.
@masump Right now we have a language selection option in the profile settings and support around 55 languages. Which language(s) are you looking to use? Or you mean using multiple languages in one epiphany?
Report
@masump@troy_gasnier I also switch back and forth a lot between several languages. Do you have language auto detection in your roadmap?
@troy_gasnier Interesting concept. I've been using voice memos for capturing ideas while walking, but the friction of manually moving those thoughts into my task apps is real. Nice to see something that bridges that gap without all the bells and whistles. Might give this a try for my occasional "shower thoughts" that usually disappear before I can do anything with them.

Congrats on your launch, Troy!
Epiphany reminds me of Nick's Talknotes. What advantages does this have in comparison?
@bonvisions Thanks, and good question! There are a lot of voice note tools, but I think it's a bit of a different proposition. Our goal is to enable the frictionless capture of ideas and thoughts while on the go and instantly send them to the productivity tools you already use. Hope you'll give it a try to see how fast it is in person!
Epiphany's approach to transforming voice notes into actionable tasks across platforms is impressive. I'm curious about the accuracy of its voice recognition, especially in noisy environments or with diverse accents. Additionally, how does Epiphany handle data privacy and security, considering the sensitive nature of some recorded information?
@faizanjan_ thanks! Re: voice recognition. It depends on the language/accent, but it's usually upper 90s percent accuracy. And we're exploring ways to make it even more accurate in the future. We do have a 'special word' section where you can input things like proper names or companies that may commonly be misspelled. We take privacy and security seriously and give users control of the data. And we have roadmap plans to enable an auto delete option after a certain user set period within the app for those that don't want to store their epiphanies in app after routing.

This app is really cool! 🤩 I might have to pull out the plastic for this one!
I don't see a way to report issues via the website, so here they are. A few minor snags I hit:
When installing the Obsidian Plugin, I had to restart obsidian to get the "new tab" to login to my Epiphany account
For Obsidian "Add to existing note", is there a limitation that it won't let me choose an existing note? It defaults to "Epiphany notes" (which I don't see present), and won't let me change.
When creating a new action in the app. If you update the custom prefix of the action, it's hard to get to the save button on the bottom. If you hit "return" it will hide the keyboard, but I think a lot of apps switch that to the "keyboard symbol" to make it more apparent.
a few things that would be nice:
Be able to specify a folder within Obsidian where all new notes get dropped into.
Be able to specify a note title template for Obsidian note. Eg, adding the current date to each note.
Congrats on launch! I've wanted something like this for a long time ..
@tleyden Thanks so much! We do have a customer support center on the profile tab in app, but not on the website. I really appreciate the feedback! Our Obsidian integration is definitely a v1. Completely agree with your points. We're going to be updating the plugin to where you can do the login in the plugin settings itself without a new tab. You're right, for now you can only add to the Epiphany Notes note. When you create your first epiphany, that note should appear. We do have that hard set currently because we are working to open it up to selecting any existing note to append to, as well as more options for folders/organization if you want to create a new note per epiphany. And good shout on the prefix/keyboard. We'll check that out. I'll follow up in app via Intercom.
Congrats on the idea and launch Troy! Such a simple yet powerful idea. Love the integration with productivity tools. I was wondering, does the app know which idea to send to each software? For example a team communication do you have to let know the app to send it via Slack? Or you have to program it individually.
@slidejoy Really appreciate it! Good question. The way it works is you configure an action button with the tool you want to connect with and select a few settings (channel/dm for example if using Slack). Then you can have up to 5 (currently) to instantly route the thought to. Users really like to know exactly where their messages are going, so we enable that with the configurable options to make it as fast and frictionless as possible.

Please add support for Webhooks as actions. I have this setup with other recording tools to store notes on my Capacities app.
@leech Thanks so much! This actually came up the other week as an easy way to trigger automations in the AI workflow/agent world. If you'd be willing to share a bit about what your other webhooks to Capacities setup looks like, it'd be really helpful. Feel free to ping me on linkedin too!

@troy_gasnier yes, webhooks opens a wide world of possibilities.
My current workflow is using VoicePen app to record (and trigger AI rewrites) and then send a webhook to a custom API endpoint I've created which parses the content and triggers an API call to store the recording to my daily note in Capacities with the transcription and the rewrites.
@leech Super cool, thanks for sharing. Hopefully we can make that workflow a little simpler in the very near future! I just looked and it doesn't seem like Capacities has Make or Zapier integrations yet... That would have simplified things a bit.
Report
@troy_gasnier they have a public API. Yes, I know Zapier/Make/etc is easier and open the possibility to a lot of integrations, but I honestly prefer direct integrations or webhook for the ones that wants to create custom integrations.
Curious on how I can use this - what is the most often used tasks that people create through Epiphany? Can it post social media posts for you and help brainstorm content and ideas?
@lylia_djaitpaulien Good question! So Epiphany's main premise is to help you capture thoughts and ideas on the go and help you get them to the tools you already use, where you can better make use of them. It's not as much about tasks only, but any of the common things you'd need to input on your phone into your productivity tools.
