While the vision of this app is what inspired me to be a founding lifetime supporter the actual functionality is seriously flawed with a major problem that occurs very often.

When creating a voice note there is often a failure for that note to upload to the cloud. The app has a link to "retry" and to "download" that note but these options NEVER work and often are just adding frustration to a moment when y you realize that all your notes are now GONE.

The suggestion posted on their reddit thread says that it's a user error caused when the app is prematurely closed. However this is not the cause of all load failures. Often even with the app on well after the note is taken the app still fails to upload and transcribe and your notes are lost Forever.

Extremely disappointing.

This recreates a process I was manually achieving through a variety of other tools. The transcription is really reliable and fast. Generally it works really nicely as a tool and the ability to summarise past notes works great. The only negatives I have to say is that occasionally something goes wrong in the upload or transcription, and the 'Generate blog post' tool creates content that is a bit cliché.

Voicenotes has become my most used, favorite productivity app. I used it to capture to-dos (which I have integrated with Todoist), random thoughts, and micro-journals for self reflection. However, Voicenotes ability to capture meetings (in meeting mode) is exceptional! The post meeting reports are better than the "built in" tools from Teams, for example. The best part of Voicenotes is how the tool has evolved since it's launch - it has only gotten better with more capabilities while still remaining a straightforward, sparten tool with a simple UI. Great job team! Everyone else, just try it! Once you have a few weeks of recordings, the AI capabilities turn your notes into a wealth of insightful Q&A. Bottom line, Voicenotes is a game changer for productivity.

I'm a professional italian writer, so taking notes is a big part of my workflow. Before voicenotes I was forced to use texts notes - that are slow - and first of all, I usually have ideas during driving time, so it was a real pain to wait to take notes etc. The voice-to-text capabilities of Voicenotes is staggering: i use it in Italian and it's - by far - the most precise V2T i've ever found. And it's not the only strong feature: the AI assistant is incredibly useful to summarize and process long stream of voice notes, and it's capable to understand all the nuances of the creative process in a way that surprized my a lot. Best product I found in ages. Speed up my pre-writing work process by X folds.

Up until recently, the Android app was free but limited recordings to one minute. But just yesterday, they updated it and now that feature is gone. Now you have to pay right away just to record anything! Another big downside: it seems like they’re using the cheapest, lowest-quality speech-to-text engine out there, because a lot of words get messed up. Plus, it’s pretty common for the app to not transcribe the whole recording—about half of it just gets left out.

I have a couple of voice to note apps and use them differently. Voicenotes has the ability to question your notes and that has led me to use it for journaling, capturing fleeting thoughts, track ideas and things in my life. You can create summaries , main points, to do lists etc from one note or several which is great when you've captured your thoughts or meetings on different days. It looks nice and works smoothly. I'm finding it so useful.

I was initially a little bit underwhelmed because the iOS App crashed several times within the first 10 minutes and provided ToDo Items I never talked about. But I have to finally admit, this is a verry capable MVP that has great potential as it is a use case that I guess everyone has in mind when it comes to an intelligent assistant. Hope to see increased usability and more connectivity options soon. I really consider subscribing.

It's great, but nothing that ChatGPT app couldn't do, its just a more thoughtful wrapper. I'm not going to upgrade for 50 USD, with speculation that once Apple equips Siri with an on device LLM, this will become irrelevant! Just my take, good implementation overall. How can it be improved? Allow users to create categorizations, like to-do, thought stash, and so on. Also, the ability to convert any response line to a checkbox can give it a level up.

I wonder if you've tried the product at all. Voicenotes is a journalling app, not a chatbot. ChatGPT is not for audio journalling, and doesn't keep the full context of your notes in memory (that you've taken over months/years), let alone help with answers. Please re-consider the review.

I've been using Voicenotes for a couple of months and it has been very helpful. I don't need to type in my manual note app any more as I can just record what's on my mind and the app stores it and can bring it back in a summarised form on demand. So far I'm using it to track activity in my veggie garden and will expand the use to other areas soon.

By far the simplest, in the best way possible, app I can use for capturing voice notes on the fly. I'm even writing this now as I hold down the Fn (Globe key) on Mac. Done in 20 seconds.

Very good app. I use it to create drafts and record in person meetings. The ability to define your own ai prompt to process the notes helps a lot, as does the chat with your notes function.
