Fat Llama is the trusted marketplace for buying, selling and renting. Lend and sell to earn more from your stuff. Borrow and buy to experience almost anything.
Untrustworthy, insincere and slow response time in relation to Customer Service. I'm awaiting an item to be returned from a 'borrower' and the consistent negligence from the Fat Llama team is taking its strain. You'll know who I am as I've emailed you 3 times this week and yet again, vacant responses! Check all your inboxes and attend to the matter urgently. Also suspicious regarding many of these '5 Star' reviews - it wouldn't surprise me if the majority are fabricated; somebody else I know had a similar experience earlier on this year and advised me against this. I wish I'd have listened.

Really poor customer service and pretty much a 90% chance your stuff gets stolen or broken from me and my friends' experiences. Don't bother with this site for renting out your things, or only rent the things that really do not care for.

Cons:
EVERYGHING

My name is Paul Villa, I work in the media and tech industry. I'm writing this because i have come across something today that has made me sick to my stomach. Being a victim of ID FRAUD myself and disgracefully all openly on Social Media Especially (INSTAGRAM), I would like to warn you guys of what is happening out here right under our nose! So you can share with your outlet and peers, to stay aware of what we put into our computer and where.
While browsing on the explore page on Instagram with a simple #fraud hashtag, i came across a group of what seem hackers & fraudsters based in our city!, Selling People’s bank card details, id’s, bank accounts and logins to sites such as (AMAZON, GUMTREE, FAT LAMA !!!!!!, PAYPAL, UBER, DELIVEROO & PETROL STATION ACCOUNT LOGINS, they also openly promote the ability to match the victim’s I.P for “100% SUCCESS RATE’!” and buy goods and sell them to their followers at 50%, who with the Hackers negotiate ‘deals’ in the comments section.
I have attached below various screen shots taken while going through these pages, all which seem like they are a LONDON & BIRMINGHAM! based gang connected via social media, giving each other “shoutouts”, to increase their followers.
They seem to have sophisticated ways of hacking sites (as mentioned above) and acquiring our LogIns and Card details, which then they use their own various methods to obtain a financial gain from these. ITS TOO EASY FOR THEM!
A LOT OF COMPANIES ESPECIALLY THE ONES STATED ABOVE THAT HAVE BEEN VICTIMS OF HACKING SEEM TO HIDE IT FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS, AS I SEE NO ARTICLES AT ALL!, THEY DONT EVEN LET THEiR USERS KNOW NOTHING!!!! GIVING US NO CHANCE TO PROTECT OURSELVES AND CHANGE OUR INFO!!
MORE SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS, WE MUST PROTECT OUR GRID AND ONLINE SECURITIES ITS TOO EASY FOR THESE HACKERS, ALSO COMPANIES SHOULD BEEF UP THEIR SECURITY BECAUSE WE ARE LOSING…... TO WHAT SEEMS TO BE 16 YEAR OLDS.
PV
THE PEOPLE MUST KNOW.

Do NOT borrow through FatLlama!!!
My overall experience with FatLlama has been nothing less than disastrous. It has cost me over 300 pounds in 'additional' fees as well as countless hours lost in disputes.
Firstly, I had an issue during a rental during which the lender provided a drone without propellers and asked me to buy some for him! I was forced to visit multiple apple stores during my short holiday to find some propellers, and when I notified the lender that it was all out of stock he attempted to bully me into a partial refund of $20 instead of $90!
However, the REAL issue started when I returned his item to him in person. After the lender thoroughly checked the items in person and confirmed his satisfaction of its condition, I considered my rental deal completed. Less than 15 minutes later, I receive a message from the lender claiming that he had 'just noticed' marks and damages to the viewfinder and immediately files for damages through FatLlama. Long story short, FatLlama ignores all evidence about the lender's underhand actions in the previous dispute and proceeds to side with the lender, charging me over 310 pounds in damages I know FOR CERTAIN I did not commit.
TL,DR: Fatllama will always protect their lenders first and has absolutely ZERO regard for their borrowers. The lenders on the platform can be downright CORRUPT and will try to extort as money as they can from. FatLlama WILL charge you ridiculous fees and threaten you with debt collectors. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, will never use again.
Pros:
Nothing
Cons:
Lenders are scammers

Worse customer service experienced ever!
Not only my listed items did not show in the search, but when I emailed them to report the problem the Shelley girl at customers service was only able to say she would have failed a report to send to their tech. After that I carry on emailing them to have news regarding my issue, none of them came back to me for over a week, until today when I told them I would have cancel my account, a dude came back to me apologising for the late response told me he would had look into my problem and came back to me ASAP (that was 5 hours ago) since then I haven’t heard nothing again. I have then decided to delete my FatLlama account for the simple reason that if they are not so active as customer service for such a small issue, I can’t imagine how can they be if something goes wrong between you and your borrower. I have read many bad reviews, and is really not worth the pain.
Friends have got their item stolen and they have done nothing in repaying the back, God knows if they even have an insurance. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT rent on this site!
