Flowtica Scribe is an AI-powered pen that records audio and lets you highlight key moments with a simple button press. It then generates structured, personalized notes focused on what you decided was important.
There s a unique joy in building physical products, and winning recognition from the industrial design community is definitely a very important part of that.
I m really honored that @Flowtica Scribe has received the 2026 iF Design Award it feels like the design world is validating exactly why we do this.
You're in a breakthrough meeting. Ideas are flowing. Someone sketches a game-changing concept on the whiteboard. Another team member scribbles crucial insights in their notebook. The energy is electric until the meeting ends and those brilliant sparks scatter into forgotten fragments.
We ve all been there. The whiteboard gets erased. The fragmented notes in your notebook make no sense afterward. The key insights from the meeting are already forgotten.
This is where innovation dies not in the absence of ideas, but in their disappearance.
Many of you know me as a hunter on PH, but I've often been asked: "Zac, what are you actually building?" Today, I'm proud to introduce myself as a maker and share the product my team and I have poured our hearts into for the past year: Flowtica Scribe.✍️
It's a pen, literally. You've probably heard the joke: "sell me this pen." "It's an AI pen." I'm here to say, it's not a joke. Let me share the thinking behind it.
The pen is a natural extension of our thought process. As a physical object, it fits seamlessly into any meeting or conversation. And writing on paper is the perfect way to stay focused and truly immerse yourself in thought.
As AI intelligence grows, we believe context engineering is the real differentiator, especially for hardware. There are other AI recorders out there, but many don't understand what you find most important in a meeting. How can you naturally signal your priorities? That's the purpose of our FlowMark™ Button. With a simple press, you mark the moments you find important while listening. The final summary has a soul because it genuinely knows what you care about. @gabe once called it "a physical granola!" – and I love that. This is our exploration of how to truly integrate user context into product design.
This is a pen we've poured so much into. From design to prototype to mass production, it's been a year-long journey. Hardware, as they say, is hard. But seeing the final result, I think it was all worth it.
Huge thanks to @sentry_co@busmark_w_nika and @gabe for being our first beta testers. Your feedback made Flowtica Scribe so much better.
Flowtica Scribe is now live on KS. Find more stories here.
Zac, I love how this is something that fits into the way we work, I still handwrite notes, this makes so much sense!
I've seen the hints, and teases about it throughout the last year, it's great to finally see it! This is awesome! Best of luck!

@zaczuo a physical granola! That’s cool. Congrats🎊

@gabe@sentry_co@busmark_w_nika@zaczuo A year of hardware development really shows in the final product, and I'm excited to see how this pen will transform the way we capture and process our thoughts in real-time!
I received one piece (Thank you, Zac) and felt like stepping into the future. I feel so privileged to try it among the first and be introduced to a new technology. You know, I addressed all the questions and suggestions in our private chat! :D
@busmark_w_nika Thanks so much, Nika! It's been so great to share the joys and challenges of building a product with a friend. Thank you for all your detailed feedback—it's helping us make Flowtica Scribe so much better!
Wow the kickstarter campaign is just moving faster and faster! TBH I really like the less is more approach with this pen. I would put it in the same category of devices as @reMarkable which is more about letting you focus, and less about maximising distraction. (And thanks 🙏 for letting me try the AI pen this summer, love it so far! and can't wait for it to grow even more powerful)
@sentry_co Thank you, André. I'll always remember the moment you described to me—capturing inspiration with the Flowtica Scribe on a beach, with just your thoughts flowing.🧘🏻
It's an honor for me and the team to know that our pen can be a part of beautiful moments like that.❤️
So glad you love it. We'll keep working hard on it! :)
I love demoing these types of products, so when @zaczuo reached out to see if I was interested in demoing Scribe, I jumped on it. The pen quality is really nice. The weight of the pen balances comfortably in hand and it blends nicely among the notebooks and computers I have. What I really appreciate is that @Flowtica Scribe made me do 2 things better
Take more physical notes again (my notebooks are feeling the love)
Actually helped me personally remember key highlights from conversations because I "triggered" them with the pen
Aside from that the notes and summaries from the app were really great. I also felt a lot more comfortable taking notes and pressing record on the pen vs setting up Granola to record on my phone. I actually didn't tell people I was recording because...I was taking notes! My thought was if they didn't have an issue with me taking notes, they shouldn't mind an AI summarizing the convo for me as well.
I previously tested @Fieldy and honestly think the products are complementary. Fieldy was great for day-to-day reminders, helping me catch up with tidbits from the day, and not forget something my wife asked. @Flowtica Scribe was an intentional moment that I needed meeting notes, much like how you'd use @Granola or @Fireflies.ai 👔.
As the space evolves I think products are going to succeeded in honing in and niching down and Scribe is a good example of this. Congrats on the launch @zaczuo and team!
@gabe Thanks for the great feedback and for being our hunter, Gabe!
You're right, our core belief is that a dedicated hardware entry point has its own reason for being and can coexist with other tools.
We put a lot of focus on the physical design, so it's great to hear you liked the feel of it. We're speeding up delivery now to get it into more hands!
WOW this is really cool. I have few questions. - Would Flowtica be able to understand a really terrible handwriting? - Does it support multiple languages ? (for bilingual people who mix up two languages in one sentence haha)
@trace__subin Hi Subin, thanks for the support and for the great questions!
To answer your first question about handwriting: we're actually not focused on digitalizing the written text from the pen in real-time. Unlike tools like Livescribe that are designed for digital writing, our core focus is on capturing the voice modality.
However, with the power of multimodal AI, we offer a different way to solve this: you can simply take a photo of your handwritten notes with our app, and the AI will incorporate them into the final summary. We find this integrates better into a natural workflow and lets you capture anything visual, not just your notes.
And yes, it does support multiple languages! You can set a primary language in the app. For cases where you mix languages, it can usually transcribe accurately as long as the mix isn't too complex.
Hope this helps!

The product seems very interesting, loved the thought your team put into it. Are you’ll considering to make an Apple Pencil variation of this? I personally like taking notes on my iPad instead of a book since it’s a lot more convenient. Just food for thought, but great - I’m definitely considering getting something like this for myself.
@anthony_fernandes2 Hi Anthony, thanks for the great feedback! I completely understand the preference for writing on an iPad.
This is actually something we seriously considered in the early design stages—a hybrid pen that would work with both gel ink and as a digital stylus. For this first generation, we decided against it for two main reasons.
First, the stylus components would have made the pen much bigger and compromised the ergonomics and feel in the hand. Second, we really wanted to encourage a return to the pure, focused experience of writing on paper.
But your feedback is heard loud and clear! We will definitely consider digital writing compatibility for future versions. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
