Without a doubt Gadget has enabled us as an agency to expand our custom app offerings. We’re a Shopify Plus Partner, and about half of the new projects we do these days require some form of custom app. Mini-apps used to fall into the too hard basket because you'd end up spending more time writing boilerplate code and setting up deployment pipelines. Large apps were always possible without Gadget, but we couldn't help but feel we were spending too much time and resources focusing on areas that we had already solved for other apps. However, this did introduce a new problem - our team needed to get up to speed with Gadget ASAP. We had a new hire start recently, and as part of our new hire process, when someone gets their first Gadget ticket and they don't have experience with Gadget, we ask them to go through the tutorials. And conveniently this happened, I think the day after we just had the new AI assistant enabled on our account. I thought that was just for my personal account on Gadget, not the entire partner's organisation. So when they're working through the tutorials and eventually moved on to a ticket, I thought it was a little bit odd that they didn't have any questions at all. So about halfway through the day I just reached out and was like, Hey how are you finding Gadget, is there anything you wanted to ask me more about or anything? They fire back with oh no, I get it all. I've been using the AI system all day, it's shown me the way basically. And then in my head then everything just clicked and I realised that people can actually ship meaningful features in a day without experience on Gadget, versus, you know, a week lead time where people get up to scratch and get a real feel for the platform. It is certainly not just another Open AI wrapper. It has deep contextual knowledge of the platform and also the infrastructure that it runs onto. Without a doubt it fits well within the tool belt that Gadget gives you. I think Gadget's mantra in my head at least, it’s always been that it lets you focus on actually shipping features, instead of getting caught up in architectural choices and code. So I would say the AI tool and the assistant really has changed things for us here.

I rarely use the term "game-changer" but Gadget is one of those cases where I find myself at ease of saying it: it handles most of the infrastructure in the development of Shopify apps (and not having to think about infrastructure and setting up webhooks is a huge plus) allowing us to focus mainly on the actual app development. I don't want to sound TOO flattering for Gadget but in a time where AI is mostly a buzzword their AI assistant is based on your own code base and helped us adding quick MVP versions of future features.

Although I normally shy away from AI dev tools, my client asked me to try out Gadget, and I was pleasantly surprised at the result. I had an urgent need to get a Shopify app built and ready for deployment for a client, and Gadget's AI tools saved me from having to dig in to learn Shopify's APIs and markup languages, as well as deal with the tedious configuration and setup of a Shopify App. Gadget's AI pretty much handled it all for me, including connecting to our Shopify API, handling authorizations and installations of the app, managing data and users between Shopify and our app, and creating an incredibly well designed user-interface integrated with Shopify Admin - all while following my specifications, requests, and software development plans. Impressive, to say the least!

We discovered Gadget through a conversation with another agency in an airport lounge, and it has transformed how we build private applications for customers. Operating in New Zealand means we deal with smaller merchant sizes but similar integration needs as larger markets. Before Gadget, we'd create AWS projects with EC2 instances, spending significant client hours just setting up the framework and managing DevOps tasks. Gadget eliminated all that foundation-building work, allowing us to focus on actual app development. Love Gadget & their whole team! I used Gadget to rebuild my Shopify app (Flexi Theme Library), and have only good things to say based on my app rebuild experience. Some features I adore about Gadget include: - Built in Shopify Integration: Gadget is fantastic with handling shop data, and syncing anything from Shopify. Additionally, Gadget handles GDPR compliance webhooks and other Shopify related complexities pretty much out of the box! - React Frontend with Embedded Polaris: It's super easy to build an embedded app and work with Polaris in Gadget. - Seamless integration with other tools like Mantle (billing/marketing) - Deployment and Hosting Simplicity: With Gadget I don't need to worry about my app going down or getting outdated. They have a fully managed hosting infrastructure! As a solo app developer (with help from a few freelancers), I was able to take my small app project and turn it into a professional-grade production app. I can't recommend them enough!

I'm the co-founder of Parkfield Commerce, as well as caseo.ai, which is a Shopify AI enablement app for merchants. It writes out all your text for you, everything from product descriptions all the way through to alt text. Building it with Gadget has been an amazing road. Without Gadget it would probably would have taken us six months just to build an MVP. It actually took us about 30 days with it, so I couldn't recommend Gadget any higher. A great thing as well is, the release of their AI assistant tool, which massively reduces development time. We use it for everything from finding webhook filters to writing computed fields with gelly. We also use it for finding errors within the Gadget code base that we're writing. So it's been a phenomenal tool and I'm excited to see where it goes, but so far it's been great.

I use Gadget for a few personal projects as well as professionally, often to build quick integrations and demo proof of concepts. I love the ability to quickly have an app, in production, that I can share with others without the need to worry about anything but the core features and modelling of the data. With the new AI integrations they've pushed, I'm confident I'll be able to move even quicker. Love it!
