GoDish is seriously awesome. @gabsong snagged a $4.50 (50% off) sandwich in the Financial District a few weeks ago. I'm also very curious to hear the backstory behind the product.

@rrhoover my cheapest meal was $3.90, which is phenomenal. I remember the lady at the Gyros place looking very satisfied with the product, and saying they were constantly selling 15-20 meals per day through GoDish (if not, per hour during the promo).

@tokudu right now we are focused on continuing to build a rock-solid pricing and inventory distribution platform. We see different fulfillment options (take-out, delivery, etc) as natural extensions of the model over time.
@ryanajon1 solid business model and the app looks great. I really like the fluctuating discount based off of restaurants peak and off-peak hours. I will definitely try this app out soon.
@ryanajon1 Awesome!
72hrs-2 weeks. The more pre-planned reservations typically correlate with a bachelor/ette party or corporate style event, which require lot's of additional planning.
With BT, we see people booking right at noon until midnight. The majority falling between 3pm-9pm.
Backstory: Promoters try to pre-sell tables up until 24-48hrs. before an event. At this point, venues ask for remaining inventory, which is usually comp'd to VIP's (rewarding loyal customers and giving appearance of full club) or left to sell at a premium to desperate at-the-door patrons. Neither approach is cost effective or leads to a sold out venue, no matter the popularity or type of venue/market. Now each day the venue loads what is unsold onto BT, maximizing revenues and requiring practically no additional effort by front of house staff.
Check out Pirq (http://pirq.com) - similar to your concept but I like your simplified model better.
Best of luck and keep in touch!
