Hey Product Hunt! π
A few months ago I walked into my grocery store and grabbed a whole fish. The price tag: $20.
I stood there for a second, genuinely surprised. I'd bought that same fish plenty of times before β it was never $20. But I couldn't tell you what I'd paid last time, or the time before that. I had no record. No history. Just a vague sense that groceries kept getting more expensive and I had no way to prove it or track it.
Food inflation is real. The USDA confirmed grocery prices are up significantly since 2020. But most of us are experiencing it one surprise price tag at a time β with nothing to show for it.
That moment stuck with me. I wanted to actually know what I'm spending on groceries β not just the total at checkout, but every item, every trip, over time. Is chicken up again? Am I buying more snacks than I think? Which store is actually cheaper for the stuff I buy every week?
My bank says "WALMART β $147." It doesn't say anything else. And every budgeting app I tried stopped at the store total too.
So I built GroceryTrack.
π· Snap a receipt β AI reads every item, price, and category instantly
π§ Forward an email receipt β works for Walmart, Amazon, Instacart orders
π Track trends over time β see what you're actually spending by category, week over week
π Never be surprised by a $20 fish again β your price history is right there
What makes us different:
β’ Item-level detail, not just store totals
β’ Works for in-store AND online grocery orders
β’ No bank account linking β your data stays yours
β’ Privacy-first: subscription only, we never sell your data, no ads
We've been quietly live at grocerytrack.food and the most common reaction from users is: "I had no idea I was spending that much on [snacks / drinks / meat]."
That's the whole point. The waste isn't obvious until you can see it.
iOS app is in TestFlight beta now. Launching soon.
Try it free β grocerytrack.food
Would love your feedback β especially from anyone who's felt that same grocery store sticker shock lately π

Very clean and well done. I like the product - I would like the product more if there was a standalone app - no server side, no account - just the app and my data where I want it. That's just me though - privacy conscious.
You have a very tight framework and are building an ecosystem of related products. Smart.
@soleoΒ I read your privacy policy and I understand users can delete their data and account. For me however, I won't use apps (at least to the best of my knowledge) that stores any information about me, or my data on servers I don't control. Again, that's just me. That's one of the reasons I actually created PrivateACB.com - privacy first cryptocurrency tax calculation app - so users don't have to send their financial information to a third party cloud server.
Please note, I am not hinting at anything wrong with your product. In fact, it is very well done, clean and well thought out. You have a great web page and are an obviously skilled dev.
I do have a question though, receipts are pretty ubiquitous across sectors yet you chose to focus on Groceries; do you have plans to branch out into other sectors or are you carving your niche on the Grocery first to see how it goes?
