I went through all the steps of visiting on my laptop, seeing it's an iOS app, downloading it on my phone, signed in with email (no Google Sign in option etc.), checking my email to get a magic link, only to see that a free trial with auto-subscription is the only option to try the app. I hate this design flaw. Just be upfront about this instead of making the user find out at the end after they invest so much already. Do you really need such a fucked up design pattern to market an otherwise great looking tool?

Love the History visualization! High data/ink ratio and lets you see progress at a glance. Agree with others that the manual tracking is a big hurdle. Having worked on this problem a bit (inspired by Peter Drucker’s book where he mentions “time blindness” for execs), a big challenge I found is effecting actual behavior change. One approach I like is to pick a rather specific user segment - do you have any thoughts on whether you’re trying to help change specific behaviors?

@rajiv_ayyangar Thank you, Rajiv! Yep, the manual tracking effort is rough. With this foundation, I'm planning to build a lot more automation through a ChatGPT integration (in progress) and then others. Effective Executive is one of my favorite books! The main behavior I'd like to change is what I see in myself using the app – 1) catching when I'm spending more time than I intended on something and 2) seeing if how I say I want to spend my time matches how I spend it, so that I can adjust. I'd like to eventually narrow down to a specific user segment, but I started broad with the intent of doing more targeted experiments soon. I've found that I'm an ok developer and awful entrepreneur though, so admittedly this is probably not the best approach.

Love the UI! Though I was wondering if the app integrates with Google Calendar and task management tools like Notion/ JIRA ? Or would I have to re-enter my tasks and scheduled events on Google Calendar?

@stephanie_leung Thanks Stephanie! Google Calendar is technically possible but inconvenient at the moment. Heydai can sync any calendar you have in Apple's Calendar app, so you can do it if you connect the Google calendars there first. Having a direct Google Calendar integration is on my radar to add 👍🏻 Notion/JIRA/Trello/etc. are something I'm thinking about. There's a lot of overlap between time tracking and task management, with Heydai more optimized for the former. For example, I still use Notion for tracking my own work tasks, but log however much time I work in Heydai so I can see insights about that time later. I think integrating with some of these tools would make it easier to track time in Heydai though, so I may add soon 👍🏻 Hope this helps, thanks again for your feedback and questions!
