French numbers are ridiculous. Quatre-vingt-dix-neuf? That's "four-twenty-ten-nine" for 99. Meet Lexie: a tamagotchi-inspired game that makes French practice stick – especially the ridiculous bits. It grows when you practice, evolves when you’re right, and doesn’t punish you for being wrong or missing a day. Fully offline, zero ads. French is free; extra languages are a one-time unlock.

@german_merlo1 thank you! I'd say complement rather than compete. Lexie doesn't teach languages, it helps to drill the bits that other language apps breeze past

This is kinda adorable tbh. Curious what “evolves when you’re right” means… new vocab sets, mini-games or just cosmetic pets?

@amitpsharma thank you! For now the growth is mainly cosmetic (you get to practice harder numbers as you gain "health" and levels but I'd love to add more complex mechanics eventually).

This is just stellar looking and addictive UX, the mascot absolutely looks like a Lexie! Just wish there were more languages support out the box, or the option to choose one pack for free to give it a try. Maybe it's time to pick up some French after all :)

The 'no punishment for missing a day' philosophy is such a relief. The Duolingo owl actually gives me anxiety when I'm busy.

@liusally4 that owl has a lot to answer for! Lexie might sulk a bit if you disappear, but I had to draw the line at passive-aggressive push notifications at 2am
Wow, Lexie looks amazing! Love the Tamagotchi angle for language learning. Does the evolution path differ based on which language youre focusing on? This is so cool!

@jaydev13 thanks! Evolution is level-based rather than language-specific right now - but that's a fun idea. I didn't want to make users feel like they're missing out on something, and encourage switching back and forth between language packs as they go.
